The contestants for October were Brown Sugar Super Chewy Cookies, Pumpkin Snickerdoodle, and Pumpkin Chocolate Chip. The competition was neck and neck, ending in a tie between Brown Sugar Chewy Cookies and Pumpkin Snickerdoodle, even with extended voting. Luckily, we had a couple of different festivities the last week of October so I had the perfect excuse to bake both.
Here's the recipe for the Brown Sugar Super Chewy Cookies. They tasted fantastic, but they weren't chewy like I thought they would be. They were actually a bit on the crispy side. I'm not sure if I baked them too long or if something else was amiss or if I just have a different understanding of what a chewy cookie is.
The Pumpkin Snickerdoodle were amazing. This recipe made about 3 1/2 dozen cookies. I even made them a couple of days ahead of time and they stayed soft. Absolute perfection! To me, these cookies should be a Fall staple. From the smell of them baking to the last yummy bite, they are the epitome of Fall.
Here's the link to vote for your favorite November cookie: Twix, Pumpkin Chocolate Chip, and Pecan Pie. Voting closes Sunday, November 14.
